Ashok Leyland and Switch Mobility become the first OEMs to provide discounts under the scheme for replacement of old trucks and buses in Delhi-NCR

• First MoU signed (15 Jun 2026) between MoRTH and Ashok Leyland + Switch Mobility under the Cabinet-approved scheme to replace ageing trucks/buses in Delhi–NCR with BS-VI / cleaner vehicles.
• OEMs to offer 8 % discount on ex-showroom price; EV discount capped at the ICE-equivalent discount level.
• Relevant for UPSC themes: air pollution governance, vehicle scrappage policy, cooperative federalism, clean-mobility transition.
