Commerce Secretary Shri Rajesh Agrawal co-chairs 14th Session of India-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Commission
- The India-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation is the apex bilateral mechanism reviewing the entire economic engagement between the two countries.
- Its 14th Session was held in Tashkent on 19 June 2026, co-chaired by India's Commerce Secretary Shri Rajesh Agrawal (via video conference) and Uzbek Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Mr. Shokhrukh Gulamov.
- Outcome: agreement to deepen trade, address non-tariff barriers, and double bilateral trade in the next three years.
- UPSC relevance: tests India's Extended Neighbourhood / Connect Central Asia Policy, INSTC-Chabahar connectivity, and trade-treaty architecture (BIT, PTA).
