India has convincingly built the grid, capital and regulatory plumbing of a South Asian power hub. Consolidating it now requires firm multi-year import assurances, climate-proofed transmission, and a rules-based regional market extending the Nepal–India–Bangladesh trilateral precedent — advancing energy security, SDG-7 and Neighbourhood First together.
