1. At a Glance

NMCMR is a Ministry of Culture scheme, executed by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), to document, digitise and disseminate the cultural assets of every Indian village [S2][S3].

Economic: Documentation feeds rural creative economy — handlooms, handicrafts, artists' database (NMCM had earlier mapped 14.53 lakh artists/artisans) supporting livelihood interventions [S2][S3].
