Also called: skill development, skilling · Topic: Human Capital: Education, Health and Demographic Dividend · NCERT: Class 8, Ch 7 "Factors of Production"
Meaning
Training is the process of learning the skills needed to do a particular job or activity. It is also called skill development or skilling. Along with education and good health, it is one of the facilitators of human capital, because it turns general learning into practical, job-ready ability. Training can happen in classrooms, workshops, at worksites or online.
Example
A civil-engineering student learns design principles in class. The student is then trained by visiting construction sites, testing materials and following safety procedures, and learns how to build in a way that is durable, cheap and eco-friendly. Short-term courses under PMKVY, the main scheme of the Skill India Mission, are another form of training.
Don't confuse with
