Meaning
Purana Qila, the "Old Fort", is a fort in Delhi. Humayun began a city called Dinpanah on this site. Sher Shah Suri later rebuilt the fort and completed it. Inside it are the Qila-i-Kuhna mosque and the Sher Mandal, an octagonal tower. Digging at the site has found remains of settlements going back more than two thousand years. This shows that Delhi has been lived in for a very long time.
Example
According to tradition, Humayun fell down the steps of the Sher Mandal in Purana Qila in 1556 and died. The Sher Mandal was used as his library.
