QBUSE (Quarterly Bulletin of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises) is NSO's quarterly data product presenting key indicators on India's unincorporated non-agricultural enterprises, released more frequently than the parent annual survey ASUSE [1].
Released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) [1].
Matters for UPSC as a new statistical/economic-survey instrument (GS-III economy, GS-II governance/administration) and as a live source of employment/informal-sector data.
Tracks India's vast informal/unorganised economy — enterprises not registered under the Companies Act — covering manufacturing, trade and other services.

NSO released the first QBUSE covering January–March 2025 and April–June 2025 quarters [1].
The Q1 (Jan–Mar) 2026 QBUSE release showed establishments crossing 9.16 crore (16.69% YoY growth) and employment crossing 15.17 crore (15.51% YoY growth) [2].

Builds on the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE), itself launched to update/replace erstwhile enterprise surveys (NSS unorganised sector surveys) after GDP base-year revision needs [1].
QBUSE introduced as NSO's step to provide timelier, periodic estimates instead of waiting for the annual ASUSE cycle [1].
